On April 12, 1955 the world learned that the polio vaccine developed by Dr. Jonas Salk was “Safe, effective, and potent.”
Thirty years later a thousand people were diagnosed every day with polio. However, it was in 1985 that Rotary International announced that it would begin a campaign to eradicate this disease globally. Today, we are so close to realizing that dream.
October 24 is recognized globally as World Polio Day. We’d love to see a graphic of what you did for World Polio Day to educate your community about Rotary’s efforts to End Polio Now.
